Aircast 02P Airlift PTTD

Aircast AirLift PTTD Ankle Brace – Targeted Treatment for Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction (PTTD) and Flat Feet
Important note for choosing the right product: This specialized brace is designed exclusively for posterior tibial tendon issues and fallen arches. It is not suitable for treating general ankle sprains, ligament injuries, or plantar fasciitis. Please verify your correct diagnosis before ordering!
Aircast AirLift PTTD is a clinically tested, medical-grade specialized brace developed specifically for the conservative treatment of Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction (PTTD), also known as adult-acquired flat foot (during Stage I and early Stage II of symptoms). The brace stabilizes the ankle joint and effectively lifts the fallen arch, which relieves pain and facilitates walking.
How does the Aircast AirLift PTTD work?
The product's unique effectiveness is based on the adjustable aircell located under the foot and the anatomically shaped support shells. The brace features an integrated hand pump that allows the aircell pressure and arch lift to be adjusted completely individually – even while wearing a shoe. By lifting the arch, the aircell directly reduces the strain on the posterior tibial tendon. Simultaneously, the lateral and medial shells prevent harmful inward rolling of the ankle (overpronation), which is typical in flat feet.
Key Features and Benefits
- Integrated air pump and adjustability: The arch support is perfectly customizable to your own foot and pain level without any separate tools.
- Reduces tendon load: Mechanically lifts the arch, allowing the irritated posterior tibial tendon time to heal.
- Anatomical support: The molded medial and lateral shells stabilize the ankle and correct foot alignment.
- Easy and painless to wear (Step-in design): The back of the brace opens completely, allowing the foot to step into the brace from above without sliding it on. This is crucial if the ankle is highly sensitive or painful.
- Comfortable material: The latex-free, breathable, and neoprene-free padded material ensures comfort during prolonged daily use.
Indications for Use – When to choose the Aircast AirLift PTTD?
This brace is the right choice when a doctor or physiotherapist has diagnosed the following condition:
- PTTD (Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction): Dysfunction or tenosynovitis of the posterior tibial tendon.
- Adult-acquired flat foot: Pain on the inner side of the ankle and foot caused by a fallen arch.
When should this product NOT be chosen?
- If you have an ankle sprain or ligament injury (choose a traditional ligament brace instead, e.g., McDavid 199).
- If you suffer from plantar fasciitis or heel pain (choose the Aircast Airheel instead).
- If you need support for drop foot (choose a drop foot brace / AFO).
